The Path to Funding – iConnections Meeting Follow Up

iConnections was last week. So, what is the critical “next step” in the path to funding? It seems all too simplistic, but Follow Up is a must after meetings! It’s shocking to think how many lost opportunities are from managers who do not Follow Up after meetings.

Yellow sticky note with the text "TO DO LIST" and "Follow Up" repeated three times. Simple and urgent reminder theme.
Only 2% of sales happen on the first contact, and the chances increase slightly to 3% on the second try.*

We just left iConnections with a client. There was a lot of work that went into scheduling and then preparing for the meetings. The meetings were productive, however the real work begins now.

Sending your first Follow Up email can make a big difference. It has been shown to increase the reply rate by 49%. This stat shows how effective first Follow Up can be in engaging potential customers.*

Static Follow Up:

An email thanking the allocator for the meeting, providing documents or data request, and asking for the next step.

Dynamic Follow Up:

Review your meeting notes.

  • Are there any themes?

  • Any discussions that happened in each meeting?

  • Recurring questions by allocators?

At PrimeAlpha, we create Follow-up content based on themes, discussions, and questions. Packaging the allocators question and the managers responses, allows us to create timely and meaningful discussions outside of iConnections. An informative email campaign, embedded with a visual or audio response, supporting links, and fund branding is not just smart, but it provides an edge in a competitive fundraising environment.

In sales Follow Ups, the biggest issue for many is needing more time, which 27% of sales professionals point out. Another big challenge is not having enough resources, as mentioned by 23% of people.*
